Rain fell in the barnyard and ran in crooked courses down into the lane where thistles and pigweed grew. Rain spattered against Mrs. Zuckerman's kitchen windows and came gushing out of the downspouts. Rain fell on the backs of the sheep as they grazed in the meadow.

With a short story set just after the fourth one, along with two omnibus editions as well, Rain has managed to get a lot out of this particular series. Showing a lot more room to expand upon his initial premise as well, it appears that this might be happening for some time yet as well.
